The music box project
The design
Before having any final product we always need the design and concept of the product we want.To do this i used Autodesk inventor to come up witht the 3d model of my music box. Here is the video showing my process.
Preparing for laser cutting
After finishing the 3D model of the product i had to optain a 2D template of all the faces of the product. I used Autocad to achieve this template by copy and pasting the faces from my inventor file into my autocad drawing.
Later, i would export the file as a pdf and prepare for the laser cutting process
The cut
Now, after carefully checking that the dimensions of my music box drawing is correct, i opened the file on corealdraw and checked the dimensions again, resizing the drawing accordingly if there are any discrepencies. Once everything is checked, time to cut.
Final product
Once the cutting was done i took my cut pieces and assembled my music box this is a picture of te completed product.
